Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce that the submissions are open for a special issue entitled “Ecological Perspectives on Hearing” in the Journal of Acoustical Society of America. This special issue aims at extending research in psychoacoustics, audiology, auditory modelling and bioacoustics to the acoustic scenarios and research questions put forth by soundscape ecologists and ecoacousticians should promote re-evaluation of the actual acoustic information conveyed by natural environments while revisiting current models of low- and high-level auditory mechanisms for human and non-human species. The full description of the special issue can be found here: https://pubs.aip.org/asa/jasa/pages/cfp020625 Note that the review process is standard. There is no special status given if a paper was invited. There is never a fee to publish in the print version of JASA. Furthermore, for this special issue, the articles will be freely available online *for the first year after publication*. People can pay open access fees to JASA to have it permanently available. There will always be publication fees for JASA-EL (JASA express letters, an entirely open-access journal) but authors will be given a 25% discount for this special issue. Deadline for submission: September 30, 2025 Let us know if you have any questions. Laurie Heller* Christian Lorenzi Camille Desjonquères Frédéric Theunissen *Liaison Guest Editor.
