Dear colleagues,
We are looking for two AI scientists for our marine ecoacoustic projects.
Job description
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ocean is alive with the calls of marine creatures—courtship songs, hunting signals, and communication rhythms. These sounds are key indicators of ocean ecosystem health. At the Marine Ecoacoustics and Informatics Lab (https://meil.biodiv.tw/),
led by Dr. Tzu-Hao Lin (https://scholar.google.com.tw/citations?user=UDLYX9MAAAAJ) at Academia Sinica’s Biodiversity Research Center, we aim to leverage large-scale spatiotemporal acoustic
datasets and AI technologies to reveal trends in marine biodiversity and provide scientific tools for conservation management strategies.
Are you passionate about applying AI to analyze marine soundscapes? Would you love to join us on field expeditions across Taiwan’s coral reefs, islands, and coastal waters—exploring by boat, snorkeling, diving, or kayaking? We are currently seeking
two AI researchers for a two-year project. If you meet the following criteria, we’d love to hear from you!
Positions Available:
1. Research Assistant (Bachelor’s or Master’s Level) 2. Postdoctoral Researcher Candidates are expected to be proficient in Python, R, or MATLAB programming. Experience in AI or data science is a plus.
Required Application Documents:
1. Cover Letter: Explain why you are interested in this position, why you are suitable, and your future career plans. 2. Resume/CV: Include contact information, education background, work experience, expertise, research outcomes, and project development experience. 3. Recommendation Letters: Names, affiliations, titles, and contact details of 1-2 referees (please ensure they are informed beforehand). Submit your application materials via a cloud storage link (do not shorten the link) and email it to Dr. Tzu-Hao Lin with the email subject: Application for AI Researcher
Position.
Academia Sinica is Taiwan's leading research institution, plays a leading academic role by advancing cutting-edge research across diverse fields, including natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences. More information about the life at AS: https://www.ifs.sinica.edu.tw/
