FishSounds Educate is excited to present this 8-part online seminar series all about underwater sounds and their study! We have invited an international group of bioacoustics researchers to provide overviews and insights into this emerging field—encompassing sounds produced by
marine mammals, fishes, and invertebrates as well as soundscapes, noise pollution, global collaborations, and fisheries applications. We hope these seminars will be of interest and accessible to a broad audience of students, managers, researchers, and the
public. We will also have one session discussing a community-led journal special issue centered on the themes covered by the seminar series. The first seminar will be focused on marine mammal sounds, presented by Dr. Fannie Shabangu, a researcher from the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment in South Africa, flyer attached. All seminars will be on Fridays at 9 am Pacific time over Zoom. The full schedule is below and in one of the attached flyers. You can register for Zoom with the links provided. All talks will also be recorded and made available on the m("FishSounds8375","//youtube.com/");" target="_blank" style="color:rgb(70,120,134)">FishSounds YouTube channel. Click on each date to register and hope to see you there!
