The Discovery of Sound in the Sea (DOSITS) Team is pleased to be engaged in this year's
Global Ocean Science Education (GOSE) Workshop event, which will focus on underwater sound. Please see below for a full workshop announcement; we encourage you to share the opportunity widely within your networks.
Please excuse cross-postings.
PLEASE SAVE THE DATE
The 2023 Global Ocean Science Education (GOSE) Workshop will be held from May 23-25, 2023 on the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography campus in Narragansett, Rhode Island USA.
The 2023 GOSE Workshop will focus on sound in the ocean, including the science of underwater sound, animal sound production and reception, and people's use of sound underwater. International regulations related to underwater sound, the technologies
that use sound, and related workforce development will also be included in the program. Participants will share ideas about what people want to know and should know about these topics, related educational strategies, and resources for a variety of audiences,
including students, the public, existing workforce, and policymakers.
As with all GOSE Workshops, this year's workshop will be open to scientists, education professionals, business leaders, and policymakers. The workshop's registration site will be open in late February, and the workshop will be capped at 150 participants.
In the meantime, if you are interested in participating, please complete an _expression_ of interest form found here or
at the link below, and you will be notified when registration is open.
Please forward this email to your colleagues who may be interested in participating. Questions? Please contact Gail Scowcroft (
Best Regards,
The GOSE Workshop Steering Committee
