Dear all,
Within TDWG Audubon Core, we are progressively building a list of
standardised terms for describing biodiversity multimedia, including
sound.*
We're currently considering how best to define (or borrow) terms for
"startTime" "endTime" of sound events in a recording.** There are
various possible formats for this, e.g.:
* Number of seconds from the beginning: e.g. "203"
* Hours:minutes:seconds from the beginning: e.g. "0:02:01.5"
* Real-world clock time in ISO8601 format: e.g. "2021-03-26T15:15:46Z"
If you have opinions about which formats are appropriate in a standard
for biodiversity multimedia annotations, please let me know by a
simple email reply!
Best wishes
Dan Stowell
* For example, recently we standardised freqHigh and freqLow
https://tdwg.github.io/ac/termlist/#ac_freqHigh
** We're looking at other standards including IIIF, w3c Media
Fragments, and Timeline Ontology.
