The next webinar in the 2020 Discovery of Sound in the Sea (DOSITS) Webinar Series will take place next Thursday, October 22, 2020, at 12pm ET. Elizabeth Henderson, Bioacoustic Scientist with the U.S. Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC), Environmental Readiness Branch, will provide an overview of passive acoustic monitoring and how data gathered can inform the decision making process, especially with regards to marine mammals. This FREE, 60-minute webinar will include an introduction to passive vs. active acoustics, passive acoustic tools and techniques, types of data collected, and examples of regulatory tools employed by various U.S. Federal agencies. Interested individuals must register for the webinar in order to participate.
