Two Tenure Track Positions in Neuroscience

The Program in Neuroscience at the College of Wooster invites
applications for two tenure-track positions beginning August 2013. One
position will be housed in Biology, the other in Psychology. Both
successful applicants will contribute to a rapidly growing
interdisciplinary Neuroscience major, participate in the First Year
Seminar Program and direct undergraduate research in the required Senior
Independent Study Program. We seek committed teacher-scholars with
demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and productive
research programs that will engage students. The College of Wooster
provides significant research support, including startup, travel,
faculty development funds, and a generous sabbatical program. (Junior
faculty are eligible for a research leave of 1 semester after 3 years of
teaching, or a research leave of 1 year after 5 years of teaching.
Senior faculty are eligible for a research leave of 1 semester after 5
consecutive semesters of teaching or 1 year after 4 years of teaching.
All leaves are paid at 100%.). Teaching load includes four or five
courses per year as well as advising Independent Study projects.

Assistant Professor of Psychology 

The Department of Psychology seeks candidates with training in any area
of Human Neuroscience to participate in the First Year Seminar Program
and direct undergraduate research in the Senior Independent Study
Program. Teaching responsibilities will include Introductory Psychology,
Human Neuropsychology, Introduction to Neuroscience, an Integrative
Senior Seminar in Neuroscience, and courses in the candidate’s area of
specialty. All students at the College of Wooster complete a mentored
senior research project. Thus, we seek a committed teacher-scholar with
demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and a productive
research program that will engage students. Ph.D. or ABD required.

Assistant Professor of Biology 

Teaching responsibilities will include Cellular Neuroscience,
Development, and Introductory Molecular/Cellular Biology. Preference
will be given to applicants whose research interests emphasize
integrative/physiological approaches. Applicants should have a PhD;
postdoctoral research and/or teaching experience preferred. Send
