The Centre for Ultrasonic Engineering, at the University of Strathclyde
(Glasgow, UK), has PhD scholarships available for research into insect
bioacoustics. Research themes include the biomechanics of hearing
systems, the linkages between neural processing and the mechanical
structures of the ear, and biomimetic/bioinspired ultrasonic sensory
systems. Applications are invited from biologists, physicists and
engineers, who are interested in working in a interdisciplinary research
group.
