Hello,
I was wondering if someone could give me a couple of tips on hydrophones. For the 'Animal Behaviour Lab' at the University of Oklahoma we consider purchasing a hydrophone. The idea is that our Department has a big emphasis on teleost fishes and some students are interested in monitoring some of the fish we have (darters, shiners, several poeciliids, etc.) for sound production. Could someone please give me a couple of tips on good-quality hydrophones that are not too expensive (we are not really a bioacoustic-oriented Department otherwise) and also not too big (some of the fish tanks are relative small). We do have a MicroTrack II that we can use as a recording device.
Any tips would be appreciated. Many thanks already in advance.
Cheers, Rudy
