Dear Colleagues, I am preparing to record wild harbour and Dall's porpoise (~2kHz - 150kHz) and am looking for advice on recording from a hydrophone directly to a laptop computer while at sea. Does anyone have any advice regarding an appropriate setup - or recommend a particular equipment (laptop/sound card etc) that has worked well with recording and analyzing ultrasonic echolocation? I've found many references to terrestrial vertebrates, but fewer that deal with the technicalities of recording ultrasonics in the marine environment. Thank you for any advice, Anna Hall, PhD candidate Marine Mammal Research Unit University of British Columbia |
