This initial meeting will focus on developing a body of information to
inform the Committee's deliberations. Many Committee members and others
will be presenting information about their involvement in the issue of
marine mammals and sound. We hope that this will be the beginning of an
ongoing exchange of information and ideas about how to progress on the
difficult issues the Committee will address.
The meeting is open to the public and will be announced in the Federal
Register. A draft list of Committee members, draft meeting agenda, and
background documents will be available on the Commission's website at

We hope you will be able to attend this important meeting. Please note that
the Committee's second meeting is tentatively scheduled for April 28-30,
2004, in the Washington D.C. metro area.
Please feel free to distribute this announcement. If you prefer not to
receive email updates about the Commission's policy dialogue on sound and
marine mammals, please email [EMAIL PROTECTED] and ask to be removed from the
list. If you did not receive this original email and wish to receive future

list.
